Wow, you have a lot of links on your site - are they all really Michigan based sites?
Yes. It is our objective to promote Michigan culturally, economically and to bring awareness to issues affecting the state. We believe by creating a comprehensive Michigan based internet resource we can open lines of communication that will help to achieve these goals. Our concept is to "Think Globally, Surf Locally".

Where do I begin?
If you have a general idea what you are looking for, one way to get started is to begin exploring the different categories. Each main category has several subcategories associated with it. You will find the subcategories at the bottom of each main category page. Notice that each link includes the city and county name from where the link originates. Click on either one to find more links for that particular city or county.

I'm lost, how the heck can I find what I'm looking for?
The best place to start is by using the search boxes which can be found at upper right corner of every page. When performing a basic search be sure to indicate whether you are searching for links or news. You do this by clicking on the appropriate button located above the search box/field where you enter your search tags. Another option is to use the advanced links search or the advanced articles search. You will also find a number of links across the bottom of each page that provide access to different search techniques and sections of the site.

It's a big state - can I search links and articles by region?
Yes. On the front page of the site, in the lower left you will find a multi-colored graphic of the state titled Michigan by Region. Clicking on this allows you to customize your view of the state by one of five regions (SW, SE, NW, NE and the UP). When you click on a particular region you will only see the links for that area. Once you leave the statewide view and enter a particular region you will notice that the links at the very bottom of each region page now list the cities that currently have links on Absolute Michigan from that area. If you want to return to the complete statewide listings just click the Absolute Michigan logo at the top left of the page. This will return you to the home page.

Can I search Michigan by county?
Yes. When you are on the home page, click the search by county link. You can find this link next to the Michigan by Region on the left side of the home page or at the bottom of each statewide view page. This will take you to a page that allows you to search Michigan by its individual counties. Once there, just click on any county to start exploring. Notice that when you are surfing around the site that following each link is the city and county name from which the link originates. Click on either one to zero in on links for that particular city or county. You will also find a number of links across the bottom of each page that provide access to different search techniques and sections of the site.

What is "Off the Couch"?
The goal of Off the Couch, Michigan is to point you at fun things to do, see, hear and experience in the Great Lakes State. One note: although there'll be lots of events on this page, it's not an event calendar. We'll post events as we come across them and since most of them are annual affairs, they won't automagically disappear from the page!
