Detroit International Jazz Fest, Sept 2nd-5thNorth America's largest free jazz festival just got BIGGER....The 26th Annual Detroit International Jazz Fest is takin' it to the streets - Woodward, to be exact -adding MORE stages and MORE music. Hart Plaza will still be swingin' but Blues, R&B, Gospel, Funk and MORE will be standard fare on the new Campus Martius and Woodward Avenue stages. BIG news. It's all happening Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5. Music and food fans can stroll and hang out at the BIG street fair on Woodward Avenue, complete with: * Garden picnic courts * Jazz-art exhibits * Activities for families * Programs for kids * Daily New Orleans second-line parades * Detroit-style ribs and cuisine The entire community is invited to party down at the kick-off concert featuring Fathead Newman's Tribute to Ray Charles on the new stage at Campus Martius, Friday, September 2nd at 8:00pm.
