Tips for Avoiding Deer CrashesThe Lansing State Journal reports that there are 1.75 million whitetail deer roaming the state, and experts warn that October through December is the most dangerous time for car-deer collisions. Nearly half of all deer-related crashes occur in this mating and hunting season. Last year, 62,707 motorists were involved in car-deer crashes, resulting in three deaths and 1,647 injuries.
