Logs Piling Up in Eastern Upper PeninsulaThe Mining Journal reports that timber producers in the eastern Upper Peninsula say they're in crisis as a shortage of rail cars, soaring gas prices and spiking freight rates are choking off their pulpwood from reaching mills in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
