Michigan Winery Reports Great Harvest, Recieves High Praise The Detroit Free Press has a profile of Lee Lutes, head winemaker at Black Star Farms of Sutton's Bay (just north of Traverse City). Lutes is overseeing what may turn out to be the best Michigan harvest ever, better even than the legendary 1991. Winemaker & winery received a 2-star rating from Tom Stevenson's New Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia (the only winery outside of California and the Pacific Northwest to have been given such a high rating).
