Congress Considers Pension Reform The Detroit News reports that the US Congress is considering pension overhaul legislation would force companies with poor debt ratings to fully fund their pension systems. Michigan workers and retirees would of course benefit but struggling Michigan companies like General Motors, Ford, Delphi and Northwest Airlines would be required to pay outstanding pension liabilities in a shorter time frame.
