State Superintendent to Recommend Tougher Curriculum for Michigan Schools

The Detroit News reports that Michigan currently requires only a high school civics course to graduate but that on Tuesday state Superintendent Michael Flanagan will likely recommend a curriculum to the State Board of Education requiring four credits of math and language arts or English, three credits of science and social studies (plus health education and fine arts or music).
