GM News Doesn't Cut Quite as Deeply as Feared in MichiganThe Detroit News reports on General Motors' bombshell that it will cut 5000 additional jobs (30,000 total) and close nine North American plants by 2008 (MI plants in Lansing, Flint and Ypsilanti). Even though the state is home to 65% of the GM's production, just 10% of the jobs lost will be in Michigan.
