The Lansing State Journal reports that the Rare Isotope Accelerator, a $1 billion nuclear physics project that would pump hundreds of millions of dollars into Michigan's economy is on hold because of federal budgetary constraints. Michigan State University hopes to land the project, which would be one of the world's leading nuclear physics laboratories.
