Five to Enter Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame

The Lansing State Journal has brief profiles on the 2006 inductees for the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame have been selected. They are

Mary Lou Butcher ... whose sex-discrimination suit in the 70s is credited with changing how gender impacted assignments, also a member of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame.

William Cote, a longtime reporter who became an MSU journalism professor at Michigan State, started the Capital News Service and MSU's Victims in the Media Program.

Ed Kearney of WLUC-TV in Negaunee who wrote pioneering drunk driving stories.

Flint radio newsman Les Root (AM-1570)

Automotive News senior editor John Teahen Jr.

Read Mich. Journalism Hall of Fame to induct 5, including an MSU professor in the LSJ
