Exploring Delisting of the Gray Wolf The Mining Journal has a two-part and very detailed story looking at proposed removal of gray wolves from the endangered species list and plans for wolf management in Michigan. Included is a look at Michigan's request to be allowed to use lethal control measures. Currently, there are at least 3,020 wolves in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, roughly 80% of all wolves in the lower 48 states.
