Interscope? Nope! GR Mystery Development Remains a MysterySaturday's Grand Rapids Press reported that the "mystery development" between Market and Grandville avenues would include a satellite campus to develop new hip hop and urban music talent with a recording studio and a concert venue as a regional draw involving LA Recording Company Interscope Records (label for Eminem, U2 and many other top acts).WOOD-TV then reported Grand Rapids Development Corporation Don Hunt's definitive statement that Interscope is not involved in the project. Last night, they dug up a year-old preliminary plan calling for a 2500 seat indoor/outdoor concert venue, 1500 town homes and condos, a state of the art cinema, retail shops and restaurants, a landscaped river walk fronting the entire length of the property, and a one million square foot vertical mall. The GR Press Editor Mike Lloyd reponded: "We respect Mr. Hunt's statement, narrow as it is to the rumors of Interscope's involvement, but we feel the statement is artfully tailored, and the story we published accurately portrayed important aspects of the project's development relative to the entertainment industry."
