Petroleum-Divorcee Seeks Ethanol Sugar DaddyThe Saginaw News reports that the city of Alma is trying to attract a business that would ethanol plant usiness to build an ethanol plant on city-owned property. The city has joined the Renewable Fuels Association, a national organization that touts the increased production and use of alternative fuels such as ethanol, which is made from corn, and soybean oil-based biodiesel fuel. Three new plants are under construction (all scheduled to open in less than a year). When added to the output of the Michigan Ethanol plant in Caro, combined production is expected to be almost 275 million gallons a year, about one-third of the state's corn crop.Read Alma eyes ethanol plant in the Saginaw News click to
