Dietrich Bronner of the the Frankenmuth Farmers Market says "One of the most crucial things is how much markets support and strengthen the local economy. The connection between consumers and farmers is extremely crucial. The disconnect between those two groups is not a good thing for society. People don't have a firm grasp of where their food comes from. At farmers markets, not only can you shake the hand of the person who grew the food, you can get his or her advice on how to use it as well."
