Anti-Union Ad Airs in Detroit The Detroit Free Press has a feature on this politically charged, anti-union ad that is part of an aggressive $5-million campaign by the Center for Union Facts, a Washington, D.C.-based group that won't disclose its financial backers. Mark Gaffney, president of the Michigan AFL-CIO, said people should take the ads with a grain of salt. "People ought to ask what's the motive here, because unions are about raising the pay and standards of millions of Americans and we're just about the only voice for the middle class in America."
