Pasty.com Turns 10The Great Lakes IT Report says that Pasty.com is celebrating its 10th anniversary today. The site went online May 31, 1996 and was founded by Keweenaw County entrepreneur Charlie Hopper as a Web site to sell pasties -- a meat pie made famous by Upper Peninsula miners. Hopper's idea was to have residents of an assisted living facility assemble the pies as an activity, and the proceeds would support the institution.
