Detroit Schools Rank Last, Officials Question DataThe Detroit Free Press reports that a report comparing the 50 largest school districts in the US ranks the Detroit's public schools last in the nation and finds that just 21.7% of the city's students graduate in four years. The Detroit News, however, carries a report in which DPS officials dispute the figure, saying the district actually graduated 44.5% in the year in question.The study determined the national graduation rate is 69.6% and ranked Michigan 34th in the country with a rate of 66.4%.
