Made in Michigan: Butler Amps Tubes and light by hundrednorth The LSJ has a feature on Eaton Rapids resident Max Butler and the custom guitar amps he builds. Butler's tube amplifiers retail for around $1000 and have built a cult following in the Great Lakes region and beyond. Butler says that musicians chasing a particular sound from their equipment end up in his basement workshop where they play and Butler figures out the settings to match their style.
