Sour Cherries, Sweet Treats NPR has an audio feature on tart cherries (also known as sour cherries outside of northern Michigan) that are used in cherry pies and other baked products. They talk with the owners of the Cherry Hut in Beulah who are gearing up to bake 500 cherry pies a day (4000 pounds a week) about things you can do with cherries, including a recipe for Tart Cherry Muffins.
