Amazing the Coverage that $3 a Gallon Will Get You

The Detroit Free Press reports that just about every US automaker is testing hydrogen-powered vehicles and says that the technology promises zero emissions and a sustainable source of energy. While vehicles could begin appearing in showrooms in 15 years or less, many obstacles exist, ranging from high costs and a lack of fueling stations to the need for improved storage capacity and better range.

In quasi-related news, the US Senate is seeking to have fuel economy standards increase by 1 mile per gallon annually and there's also a look at various state and national measures designed to encourage purchase of hybrid cars & trucks.
