The Detroit Tigers defeated AL Central rival Chicago White Sox 2-1 and moved to 5 1/2 games in front of the Sox (and everyone else). Tiger pitcher Kenny Rogers was dominant as the Tigers captured 2 of 3 games. Fun fact: In the last two games of the series, the top four hitters for the White Sox went 0-for-29.

The Leelanau Sports Guy tipped us to Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen's acceptance speech for the Ty Cobb Throwback award:

That was a man's game. This now is a bunch of little weasel games. Major League Baseball in general has gone really weak. Start playing like a man. Do something people can enjoy. Play the game hard.
