Daniels to Receive Michigan Filmmaker Award The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that the inaugural Michigan Filmmaker Award will be presented to Jeff Daniels, who founded the Purple Rose Theatre Company of Chelsea. The award will be presented on the opening day (Monday, July 31 2006) of the Traverse City Film Festival to Daniels by Gov. Jennifer Granholm at 2:30 PM at the State Theatre.
