Michigan Energy (Affordability) CrisisThe number of Michigan households facing unaffordable energy bills has reached crisis proportions according to The Heat And Warmth Fund (THAW), a non-profit emergency energy assistance program. The study found that more than 180,000 households with incomes 50% below the Federal Poverty Level pay 38 percent of their income to keep heat and lights on in their homes (6% is considered affordable).click to
