USGS Study of Yellow Dog Plains SoughtThe UP Mining Journal reports that a scientific study of northern Marquette County's watershed could be on the way, which would include the area proposed for the mining of nickel in the Yellow Dog Plains area. Funding for the U.S. Geological Survey survey of northern part of the county was made in a mid-March appropriations request, according to U.S. Rep.
