Boat Registration Down from '02, Up From Last YearThe Detroit Free Press reports that the Michigan boat registrations have declined from a 2002 high of just over 1 million to 957,465 (roughly 5%). The figure is up 13,000 from last year and Michigan law does not require registrations for nonmotorized small craft like kayaks, canoes, rowboats and some small sailboats.
