The Detroit Free Press reports that the defending WNBA champion Detroit Shock defeated the Indiana Fever 81-65 yesterday at the Palace to reach the finals for the second straight year.
"Once again, I'll say it: We've done what we were supposed to do," head coach Bill Laimbeer said. "We played all year long to secure the home-court advantage. We talked about it from the start of the year until the end of the year that if we win our home games, we are WNBA champions again. That's been our mentality; that's how we've operated."
The best of five final series starts at 7:30 PM Wednesday at the Palace with the Shock facing the Phoenix Mercury. More on the team at the Detroit Shock web site.
I have to say that I'd love to see the NBA steal a page and return the first couple rounds to best of five!

I,m from Peoria,IL and I love this team. Detroit is my favorite team, I play basketball as well and I'm ranked in the top 5 freshman in baketball in the country. I think watching your team play, help with things I need to know for the WNBA. Congradulation for this year and last year, you made lots of progress. I'm your biggest fan excluding your parents. Another I would like to say is be careful with the injuries and feel better (Cheryl Ford)ha ha! I love you all! I also have 16 colleges letters, and I've only been playing basketball for 3.5 years not to brag!!!!!!
