Michigan Electronic Library LogoThe Michigan eLibrary (MeL) invites you to join State Librarian Nancy Robertson and Michigan eLibrary Coordinator Sue Davidsen for a live chat from 10-11 AM today (Tuesday, Feb. 20) at mel.org/melremix. You'll have a chance to ask questions, learn about MeL's makeover, and get some ideas for how to get the most from the Michigan eLibrary.

Afterwards, the Michigan Library Consortium will host a Remix Party in the popular online environment Second Life (noon - 1 PM EST). Search for "Michigan Library Consortium" in Second Life.

    In my opinion, they have really done a great job of pulling a lot of what was hidden out into the open - definitely check it out!

    The email that they sent out said something about MeL being a resource for business, so I asked them how they thought business could benefit by using MeL. The MeL Admin responded We have a nice database called Gale General Business File ASAP as well as the New York Times and Grand Rapids Press. You can analyze company performance, industry trends, and the latest in management, economics and politics.

    Unfortunately, the chat system they were using didn't allow me to see what other people were asking ... maybe next time, they'll try gabbly!
