Monday morning update: Well, the Tigers (finally) took care of business last night with a convincing 5-3 handling of the White Sox thanks to 7 shutout innings by Verlander. They head to Minneapolis tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct 6 @ 5:10 PM) for a one game playoff with the Minnesota Twins. Check the comments for details!

Apparently, the long layoff from baseball has affected our bat speed, and we missed the opening of Spring Training 2009. In 2008, the Detroit Tigers dropped like a fly ball at a peewee game. They began the long climb back to the top last week with spring training at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida.
