50th Birthday party for the Mackinac Bridge

Here is our main Mackinac Bridge Page

Mackinac Bridge by michiganartisan

Joanne tipped me off to news that the Mackinac Bridge Authority (MBA) and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will hold a special ceremony at Bridge View Park in St. Ignace on Thursday, July 26 at 10 AM honoring Dr. David B. Steinman, the designer of the Mackinac Bridge and unveiling a new bridge token in his honor.

This kicks off a celebration of the Mighty Mac with events including parades in both St. Ignace & Mackinaw City, bridge building demonstrations, Great Lakes folk music, food vendors, fireworks and much more. Most events are on Saturday including the fireworks and we ask you to please post links to any pictures you take below!

    Happy Birthday Mighty Mac
How many people have tried to sell you?
Crossing you beats the almost 200 mile alternate route.

Hi Rachel - we don't have anything to do with the bridge walk or run, but I did find photos posted on the Governor's blog.
