(updated April 9, 2008!) The annual Great Lakes Kite Festival will be held May 16-18, 2008 at Grand Haven State Park in Grand Haven, Michigan. The event benefits the Children's Leukemia Foundation and features:
- Giant kites including the Giant Octopus and Trilobite kites (over 90 feet long)
- Demonstration field featuring kite ballets, performances and stunt kite exhibitions from some of the nation's finest kite teams
- Kiteboarding exhibition by the Naish Kiteboarding Team and Joe Bidawid
- Test flights of the latest and greatest kites and free kite seminars
- Indoor kite flying friday night and a night flight on Saturday
- Fighter Kite Competiton
- Moonwalk and obstacle course in the family fun tent

I am assuming that this years dates will be the 16th -18th. When will this years dates be published?

We'll be posting our May calendar probably next week. It does look like May 16-18, 2008 is the date this year!
