Night at the Fair by Oldbrushes
The annual Michigan State Fair opens today (Aug 23) and continues through September 4. The state fairgrounds are located in southeast Michigan at the corner of Eight Mile Road and Woodward Avenue in Detroit - two miles from I-75, three miles from I-696, and eight miles from I-94.
Popular attractions include the Miracle of Life Exhibit, the DNR/HCMA Outdoor Zone (where youngsters can learn to fish), FREE Concerts under the stars in the Band Shell (Alice Cooper, Ginuwine, Morris Day & the Time, Raven, Three Dog Night and Twisted Sister), daily parades, competitions, horse shows, agricultural displays, arts & crafts, racing pigs, rabbits & poultry, dairy exhibits, carnival midway rides & games and the world's largest stove.
Much, much more can be found at the Michigan State Fair web site.

It would be nice if the bandshell entetainment schedule was posted in advance so that one could plan on when to attend the fair. Unfotunately, not everyone can attend every day. I have noticed that there aren't many county acts listed on the little teaser that is on the home page. The Ohio AState Fair already has their schecule posted and perhaps that is where I should plan on spending my entertainment dollars which are somewhat limited by the attrocious gas prices.
Thanks.
I have more of a question then a comment. Could anybody please tell me where and when I can buy advance VIP tickets to see Alice Cooper. Thanks
I think this web site is Great. I wanted some information about Alice Cooper at the State Fair. I found every thing I needed very quickly.
I'm not happy about the Gold circle seating. The price does not include entry to the fair grounds. I think it should be included. One price. One concert. No state fair gounds admittion required. Most people going to see Alice won't be attending the fair any way. Its on the last day.
Hey, thanks for liking us!
Sorry about the ticket thing.
I entered all of the 2006 daily cooking contests & I was told there would be a cookbook available with all prize winning recipes. I can't seem to find it though. Did they decide not to do one?
I don't know - I would follow the link to the Michigan State Fair site and ask them!
