Crain's Detroit Business reports that the Motown Winter Blast will return February 9-11, 2007 for the third year with a new name: Detroit's Winter Blast. The Blast was launched in 2005 as a build-up to Super Bowl XL and is expected to attract about 400,000 people to 11 downtown city blocks. According to the article:
New for the 2007 festival: snowboarding demonstrations and a Pure Michigan exhibit in the Compuware Atrium.Other attractions include the Michigan.org snow slide, outdoor entertainment districts sponsored by DaimlerChrysler, GM and Greektown Casino, live music, warming tents, ice skating exhibitions, ice sculptures, dog sledding and food. Cross-promotions with other events going on downtown during the festival also are planned, such as the Heat the Streets 10K and 5K run and a retail shopping promotion with Detroit Synergy.
More information on the official site for the Detroit Winter Blast will be updated. If you want to see more photos, check out Detroit Winter Blast by Rohn Photos and Motown Winter Blast by Pasque.

Hi folks,
I went to the Blast last year and indeed had a blast and would like very much to perform at it this year. I have a classic/alternative/country/rock band that plays in and around Detroit and we kind of think we're pretty good. Please consult our web site for more details or call me direct at 313-268-0788.
Live It Up!!!
