We received an email from Mitchell Hirsch asking for a little help. We thought our Michigan-loving audience be able to help him out a little. In addition to mailing the things he asks for, maybe you could post a couple links to things he can print out. It's our duty as a state to ensure that Mitchell receives a great grade!
I am a fifth grader at George G. White Middle School in Hillsdale, NJ. I was given a report to do, explain why Michigan is the best state in the Country. I will be judged by my teachers and classmates. I would like to know if you can send me maps, pamphlets, pins, or any giveaways that I can give out during the judging.

So as a little icebreaker, my idea is that we can contact people we know (or don't know) who are in the business of promoting Michigan or who are doing cool things in Michigan and get them to mail Mitchell a little something.
It would also be great if you post what you sent him or who you contacted below!!
Michigan has so much that makes it special - all we need to do is take a few minutes to tell people about it.
I [posted a picture of Michigan's Upper Penisula for Mitchell. It's of a fisherman landing a salmon in the Presque Isle River. To me it represent's what's best about Michigan: our natural resources enjoyed by all. My next choice was of a brand new Chevy or Cadillac ...

You picked a Great State to write about! I can tell you about the five Great Lakes and how long and deep they are. I can also tell you about the 117 lighthouses on our shoreline.
If you are interested in waterfalls, I can tell you about some of the 364 that are located in our great state! You want to know about islands? The auto makers,the first roadside rest area, even about the first painted line down the middle of the highway.

May 9th-11th is the worlds largest Free country music concert at Hart Plaza.
June 28th & 29th- is the annual Petapalooza event at Freedom Hill
