In CHIPS DOUBLE UP, the Freep reports that on Saturday, Central Michigan University cruised its second straight Mid American Conference title. Standout sophomore QB Dan LeFevour ran for two touchdowns and 170 yards on 20 carries and passed for 185 yards and a TD in a 35-10 victory over Miami (Ohio) at Ford Field on Saturday.
LeFevour joined former Texas QB Vince Young as the only NCAA Division I-A quarterbacks to rush for more than 1,000 yards and pass for more than 3,000 yards in a season. LeFevour joined Chad Pennington as the only MAC quarterbacks to win back-to-back MAC championships. Pennington led Marshall to titles in 1997-99.
Well, maybe those aren't the best two QBs to be compared to, but it's clear that LeFevour is one heck of an athlete. The Chippewas (8-5) will meet the Purdue Boilermakers in the Motor City Bowl on December 26 at 7:30 PM at Ford Field and you can get tickets at the Bowl site or through CMU Football.
