The Conference on Michigan's Future – Nov 14-16, 2008

A brief talk with Crystal Mountain GM Jim MacInnes that you can watch in higher quality on YouTube. The Conference on Michigan's Future will be held Friday November 14 through Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Crystal Mountain Resort near Traverse City.

Rising oil prices and shrinking liquidity have negatively impacted Michigan’s three largest industries of automobiles, agriculture and tourism and our state currently ranks first in unemployment with a rate of 8.9%. Conference organizer Aaron Wissner says "Michigan's current economic model is failing on all fronts. It's time to engage both individuals and industry to develop a new vision for the future of Michigan." Get much more information about speakers and an agenda that includes peak oil, energy & transportation choices, local food, climate change and planning at futuremichigan.org.
