On Saturday the Detroit Shock captured their second WNBA Championship with an 80-75 victory in Game Five of the WNBA Finals on Saturday at Joe Louis Arena. There will be a celebration for the Detroit Shock on Tuesday, September 12 at noon in front of the Spirit of Detroit statue. Flint native Deanna Nolan, who averaged 17.0 points and 4.2 rebounds including a game-high 24 points in Game 5, was named MVP of the Finals.
