Legendary Detroit Tiger broadcaster Ernie Harwell passed away tonight at the age of 92. The Detroit Free Press reports:
Following Harwell's wishes, there will not be a public memorial service. However, Harwell is expected to lie in repose at Comerica Park within a few days, where fans can pay their final respects.
...Donations can be made to the Ernie Harwell Foundation, to further the endowment of the Ernie Harwell Collection at the Detroit Public Library and to fund partial scholarships to the four colleges that bestowed honorary degrees on him: the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, Northern Michigan University and Adrian College.
