Fingers point, clock ticks, but still the job doesn't get done

Almost 9 months after the Governor released her proposed budget, she addressed Michigan regarding what pretty much everyone knows - we're still waiting for a budget agreement.

Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop said in his rebuttal that the issues we're facing are not partisan issues and asked the Governor to take the threat of government shutdown off the table, responding to her statement that a continuation budget merely continues spending money that we don't have.

Shutdown CountdownThe Detroit News even has a "Shutdown Countdown" ... something that I think adds to my frustration. You can click it for the latest. What does it say about a state when we come to this kind of impasse? I don't know, but I'm guessing that it doesn't say "Invest your money here".
