GRAYLING AND AXIOM ENTERTAINMENT. The Michigans economy needs a project like Main Street America, Axiom or not. A county/city/village may use bonds to develop a medical facility, but where is the gurantee that in a year or two there sill not be a major pandemic or terrorist situation that will distroy that investment? Everything today seems to be a gamble. I think we all need to look very carfully and examine all the implications about this one. This website has an more indepth 3 part article this particular area in Northern Michigan, local statistics and more.View it at: http://www.pamelashinnphotography.com/-/pamelashinnphotography/article.asp?ID=2736

I agree with the township residents that will be living near this park. Not ready for all the traffic. But on the other hand my kids are all for it. Jobs would be great for the area.

I live about 4 miles from where the park will be. The announcement came a couple days ago that Grayling township has approved and is requesting that the state land located off of I-75 and 4 mile road, which I think was around 1880 acres to be sold by the state to Axiom Entertainment. The state has already said that they intend to sell this parcel. Looks very impressive, just don't know if I am ready for all the traffic that this will bring. There is a 3 minute video you can watch about the park by getting on the 9 & 10 News website. You will probably have to go into the archives section though.

Hey Pam, we had a story last summer from the Bay City Times saying that that Rochester-based Axiom Entertainment is exploring the acquisition of about 1,800 acres of state-owned land along I-75 near Grayling and developing it as a family theme park. The Main Street USA theme park could cost $160 million and employ up to 2,000 seasonal workers and 700 year-round.

That's all I've ever heard on the topic. Would be interested if you hear anything more!
