In an excellent post this morning, Joe Dumars addresses the Flip Saunders question, Matt Watson over at Detroit Bad Boys analyzes Detroit Piston President Joe Dumars' appearance on ESPN's Daily Dish Podcast. Matt writes:
I’ve listened to this a couple of times and I can’t make up my mind what he really means in his answer. It almost, almost sounds like he’s of the attitude that the Pistons will have a good team with or without Flip Saunders...
It's a long and thoughtful post that Piston geeks will enjoy ... of course they will probably already be regulars at DBB ... ah well.

If Detroit doesn't come back and win this series, Flip Saunders should be fired. A premier NBA team, like the Pistons can not allow anyone including Lebron James score like that. Foul him, guard him before he drives the lane, etc.. I realize he got every call, the Bad Boys would be embarrassed.
I'm certainly not going to argue with you Jedd.
Of course to be fair, the Bad Boys never would have gotten a flagrant 2 foul on that play that McDyess did did.
Flip Saunders should have never been hired. He is not a stategist. Labron James is a good player but he and Wade are not so deservant of the Michael Jordan calls as of yet. Lets get back to Sanders. I ask you "Joey why don't you use Nazie Muhammad? Surely he can do a decent job at defending the post. He has five fouls to use especially in the fourth quater when Labron seeems to go to the rim often. Stop his momentum at the top of the key. Prince does not challege James. Prince alwasy takes a look behind when he is defending James and James uses this weakness as an opportuniy to take Prince to the hole. Prince keep you eyes on the prize. This is a stratgy and analysis for a game six if you need mor e-mail for the win and the series. I am an x basketball player that played against some of the greatest NBA stars. We still know the game.
Joe-
You have to re-sign Chauncy Billups. It's manditory. Without him the pistons are not a championship contending team. Also, Webber is in fee agency and he makes a lot of contribuations to rebounding and points. He's not as important as Chauncy Billups but he is still an important sign. Another must-sign is Mcdyess. He is extremely importat to this organization and he will be a major loss if you dont re-sign him. Dale Davis is not the most important man to re-sign but without him, who will gaurd Shaq or Yao????? He is important off the bench and should be re-signed. But always keep in mind, Don't let Mr. Big Shot leave The Palace.(Like Big Ben)
And to everyone talking about Flip, I do agree that Flip Saunders has made some poor coaching decisions in the season and also in the Play-offs, but who is another exceptional coach up for hire???????
Final words:
1. Pistons Choked Big Time and were not focused on the game. It's like they thought that the Cavs were going to just let them fly right by to the Finals. Ya Right! The pistons got a big wake-up call.
2. If joe dumars somehow for some reason doesn't sign Chauncy Billups, The pistons are in major trouble and I mean it.
I love the pistons always have but they will never win a playoff game until you fire flip saunders he's a lousy coach, the game against the 76's last night was a disgrace, the first game was bad enough, everyone i know is laughing at them, i don't understand why you have held on to flip as long as you have, come on now they are playing against a bunch of babies, what the heck is happening? There is no way they should have lost 2 games IT'S YOUR COACH GET RID OF HIM, have you ever thought about Bill Lambier.
Thought about Bill Laimbeer?
Does the shrine with candles and the Bill Laimbeer "What Foul?" cover count?
If so, then yeah, I thought about it. Still, you have to dance with the coach who brought you.
