Michigan Books: Fork in the Road with Eric Villegas by Eric Villegas

Fork in the Road with Eric Villegas by Eric VillegasThe cookbook Fork in the Road with Eric Villegas by Eric Villegas from Huron River Press (publisher's page on Fork in the Road) is based on chef and restaurateur Eric Villegas's award-winning PBS cooking show, Fork in the Road. From the author's site:

The 192-page, hard cover, book is filled with gorgeous food & other photography that sweeps you across the magical mitten, the great state of Michigan. From north to south and east to west Chef Villegas covers the great agricultural heritage of the state in his sumptuous recipes.

Fork in the Road clearly goes hand-in-hand with "unkle e's" TV persona, capturing his funny and energetic personality. The recipes, written in clear, easy to follow instructions will appeal to the serious cook as well as the novice. Chef Villegas puts his own creative spin on traditional, natural, organic and wholesome Michigan cuisine. The book is organized roughly by the regions of the state: Freshwater, The Fruit Belt, Middle of the Mitt, The Thumb, The U.P., and The Great Lakes Pantry.

Eric's show encourages folks to become "gastronauts" and to travel around Michigan, tasting and trying as they go and this cookbook will help you do the same.
