The recipes are simple and classic. But what I love most are the wise little stories that accompany each recipe. This is a cookbook-memoir like no other,I think EVERY woman ought to have one in her collection. Trust me, nobody can give out a recipe in the womanly way that Patty Pinner can. This book is great for gifting --from mother to daughter, sister to sister, girlfriend to girlfried. Patty Pinner is taking recipes in a whole new "womanish" direction. I just checked it out at the library two days ago and have nearly finished reading it. My Mom, Mother-in-law and I are ALL buying ourselves a copy of this must-have for women of all ages. The pie recipe selections are filled with variety, and there truly isn't a single one I wouldn't want to try. This one is going on my coffee table for sure! I just wish I had the wealth of advice Miss Pinner had all through her life, though with this book, I can glean the wisdom from generations from her family and share it with my daughter as she grows.
