North American Snow Festival, Cadillac
Rev your engines and zoom to Lake Cadillac on January 24-27, 2008 for Michigan's largest snowmobile shindig, attracting as many as 10,000 sleds. Lake Cadillac, Lake Mitchell and the Cadillac Armory for Radar Run, Grudge Race, Pond Hockey, Ice Sculptures, kids races and Fun Run and much more!

Key Ingredients Michigan Foodways, Dundee
Key Ingredients is a Smithsonian exhibit depicting our national food culture. Michigan Foodways is a Michigan State University Museum exhibit exploring our state's food story by examining our rich agriculture, our diverse ethnic cuisines, and our special culinary traditions. Dundee is the last stop of the Key Ingredients Michigan Foodways tour in Michigan. The far southeastern corner of Michigan is steeped in foodways traditions dating back to pre-colonial times.

White Pine Stampede, Mancelona
The White Pine Stampede is a major Nordic Ski race, part of the Michigan Cup series and the Midwest's premier Nordic event. The White Pine Stampede has a 50 Kilometer Event, a 20 Kilometer Event, and a 10 Kilometer Timed Tour.

Ice Carving Festival, Rochester Hills
World-class ice carving professionals will take up their laser sharp ice tools and chain saws when the Village of Rochester Hills hosts a weekend of ice sculpting, shopping and dining. Patrons are invited to visit the Village February 1-3 to watch the carvers create the works of art, as the artists will be carving many different carvings throughout the weekend.

Winter Carnival, Houghton

Annual Frostbite Open, Harrison
The Annual Frostbite Open takes place on five groomed nine-hole courses, where novice and veteran golfers hit brightly colored tennis balls over the snow. Other events include a Turkey Bowling competition and a best sled competition.

North American VASA, Traverse City
The VASA weekend festival of Races includes both a 27 and 50km special classic skiing race, a 12km Timed Class, and a 6km and 16km challenge. Junior VASA Races are also part of the weekend festival.

Pine Mountain Continental Cup Ski Jumping Tournament, Iron Mountain
Pine Mountain Slide is known throughout the world as one of the best jumping hills. The Kiwanis Ski Club hosts the best tournament in the United States. Year after year, they have the top foreign jumpers competing. All classes of records have been set on Pine Mountain, and the record of the U.S at 140 meters/459 feet is still held here. Annual attendance is over 20,000 spectators.

UP 200, Midnight Run Sled-Dog Championships and The Jack Pine 30, Marquette
Three UP sled dog races provide a variety of challenges for mushers. The UP 200 is actually 240 miles in length and is a qualifying race for the Iditarod.

Winter Festival, Free Fishing Weekend and the Winter Project GO Get Outdoors, Bay City
Winter Festival will offer activities for all ages, including wildlife demonstrations, hikes, an introduction to orienteering, snow snake competitions, a treasure dig, a candlelit ski/walk, and an owl calling hike.

Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids
The 3rd Annual Michigan Brewers Guild Winter Beer Festival is scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd, 2008. Due to the success of the event we have outgrown the location in Old Town Lansing where the Festival was held in 2006 and 2007. After much deliberation we decided that we would move the event to the Grand Rapids market. There was some reluctance to move from Lansing but we believe that it will be a positive move and we are excited to be taking this event to the west side of the state. The actual location will be the Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps. We will not be on the playing field but will be utilizing some of the surrounding areas inside the park which leaves the event outdoors. Plan to wear long johns, hat and mittens and mark your calendar for February 23rd.

The Outhouse 500 and Coopersville Chill 5-K Run, Coopersville
The Outhouse 500 has recieved national acclaim as one of the most unique mid-winter festivals in Michigan. The Outhouse 500 features the Coopersville Chill 5-K Run at 10:00 a.m., followed by the wacky and funny Outhouse Parade at 11:00 a.m. along Main Street in historic downtown, followed immediately by the Outhouse 500 Races. Trenary Outhouse Classic - The Outhouse Races, Trenary
The Outhouse Classic is an annual race in Trenary where outhouses are built and raced down the main street. There are categories: speed, presentation, best use of theme, most humorous, best workmanship, and most miles traveled. Families come to the event to watch and to compete, there are two different age brackets making competitions fair. A few years ago nuns came to compete and built the Vati-Can. U.P. Pond Hockey Championship, St. Ignace
The U.P. Pond Hockey Championship will be played on the Wild Ice of Moran Bay, Lake Huron, downtown St. Ignace, Michigan! The Hanson Brothers (from the movie Slapshot) are going to be guests in the beer tent on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the UP Pond Hockey Championship!

US Junior Olympics Ski Jumping & Cross Country Skiing Nordic Combined, Ishpeming
The Ishpeming Ski Club, America's oldest continuously active ski club, will host the 2008 USSA Chevrolet Junior Olympics Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined beginning February 26, 2008 in Ishpeming, Michigan. The event will continue through March 1st.
