The Spanish Knight by Stormwatcher
Transport yourself to the Middle Ages (16th Century) by visiting one of Michigan's Renaissance Festivals. These faires and festivals are focused on recreating life as it was during the Renaissance and feature everything from feasting, shopping, music, entertainers and games to sword fighting and jousting. You will also likely encounter peasants, villagers and idiots in period attire, adding to the overall experience. Some, like the Grand Valley Renaissance Festival, are run by students, who "in addition to their festival in October, conduct educational demonstrations at area schools and libraries, take part in on-campus events, and participate in other Michigan renaissance festivals."
Michigan's Renaissance Festivals typically take place outdoors over a weekend between May and October. And don't let the rain deter you; Most of these festivals operate rain or shine. So put on your raincoat and have fun! For a list of local Renaissance Faires and Festivals look below. The events are sorted by region and date.

Thank you so very much,
