MSU hires Mark Dantonio as new football coach

We've given a lot of attention to the Wolverines lately, so here's news that Michigan State will hire former Spartan assistant and University of Cincinnati coach Mark Dantonio (also see this Freep story) to replace outgoing John L. Smith as head coach.

Dantonio has 24 years of collegiate coaching experience and has worked for some of the top coaches in the game including Nick Saban, Jim Tressel and Earle Bruce.
