Ford Field (known to Michiganders as The Place Where Dreams Go to Die in Silver & Blue) will feature actual winning in April of 2009.

The 2009 Final Four - the culminating games of the NCAA Men's College Basketball "March Madness" tournament - will be held in Detroit at Ford Field April 3-6, 2009. In addition to the games, there will be all kinds of associated hoopla including:

Final Four Friday ® - Team Practices - April 3, 2009
Fans can watch each of the four participating teams at an open practice at Ford Field free of charge to the public.   Practices begin at 12 pm.

Final Four Friday ® - College All-Star Game – April 3, 2009
Following the open practice, two teams of players selected by coaches from around the country will play in an all-star game that is FREE to the public.

NCAA Hoop City ® - April 3 – 6, 2009
NCAA Hoop City is an interactive fan festival celebrating NCAA basketball.

The Big Dance ®
The Big Dance ® is a FREE, multi-day entertainment-oriented and celebrity-filled festival held in downtown Detroit.

We'll try and feature as much of this as we can on Absolute Michigan ® and hopefully one of our Michigan ® teams can make the short trip as well!

I look forward to it. It's something good and positive for the city and as you said, we can see some actual winning in Ford Field. It would be awesome if MSU could make it to the Final Four this year.
