Quotes
"October's poplars are flaming torches
lighting the way to winter."
- Nova Bair
“On the motionless branches of some trees, autumn berries hung like clusters of coral beads,
as in those fabled orchards where the fruits were jewels . . .”
- Charles Dickens
"I saw old Autumn in the misty morn
Stand, shadowless like Silence, listening
To Silence."
- Thomas Hood
Fast Facts - Wikipedia
- October's birthstone is the opal. The opal is thought to have the power to predict illness. This is because the opal responds to heat. If you are sick your temperature increases before signs of illness appear. The increased body heat causes the opal to loose its shine, leaving it dull and lacking color. It is also said that the opal will crack if it is worn by someone who was not born in October.
- Its birth flower is the calendula.
The Harvest Moon - SPACE.com
Oct. 4, 2:10 a.m. EDT -- Full Harvest Moon. Traditionally, this designation goes to the full moon that occurs closest to the Autumnal (fall) Equinox. The Harvest Moon usually comes in September, but sometimes it will fall in early October as is the case in 2009; the next time won't come until 2017. At the peak of the harvest, farmers can work into the night by the light of this moon. Usually the full moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice -- the chief Indian staples -- are now ready for gathering.

Can we add the post to register to vote? Read this post to see how McCain has 13 cars and that's right, not all of them are American. Barack has one (Ford Hybrid). Who do you think will look out for our auto-workers?
Is there any haunted forests or houses in pullman, allegan, or south havan?
When Obama raises Taxes on businesses and whats left of our auto manufactures leaves the country their wont be auto workers left to look out for. And by the way who cares how many cars mccain owns he bought them with his money. How many cars do you own, how much did your house cost, how much do you bring home after taxes. These questions are none of my business, right?....exactly. If you work as hard for your money as I work for mine you dont want to see it taken away by an ineffective government
There is a restaurant on M-40 south of Allegan that is supposed to be haunted. It is said to have very good food. It's pricy. You choose your own steaks to be cooked for your specification.
I have a friend who went and said she coud feel evil while there??? She never saw a ghost, but felt a evil spirit. Said she'll never go back.

It's scary that there are so many uninformed people out there contributing to the decision making in this country. obama and his hybrid.....how about obama and his vacations...obamas and his parties at the white house every week...obama and his talk show appearances, infomercials, so called "transparancy," so called "no earmarks," fiscal responsibility....GET INFORMED!
