Mike says that box turtles are relatively uncommon. Here's what Wikipedia and the Michigan DNR have to say about box turtles.
The photo is part of his Cass Lake set (slideshow). Some of his other sets include outside birds and Josephine the Friendly Squirrel. As you might imagine, Mike also has a number of storm photos.

This is not a box turtle. It is a Blandings Turtle. It does have a hinged plastron, but this turtle is a water turtle.
