Hilary's first camera was a Polaroid Swinger. She writes that the Swinger was:
...a groovy white camera that developed pictures in minutes. A little squeege full of some kind of fixative chemical came along with each pack of film. You had to rub this over the picture after it developed, which sometimes resulted in odd streaks. Those old Swinger pictures are terrible, but great!
It sounds like the Swinger led to real film photography which led to experimentation with double exposures which in turn seems to have led to these cool layer collages.
