The Northwest Michigan Engine and Thresher Club Inc., a volunteer and non-profit group, has put on the Buckley Old Engine Show on the third weekend in August for the past 41 years. It features old-fashioned fun including antique tractors and engines, petting zoo, kiddie tractor pull, more than 200 old-fashioned musicians, dances and a 600-lot flea market.

During the show, people will see about 900 antique tractors and about 600 antique gas and oil engines. The festival also has 1923 steam locomotive that carries passengers around a mile of track.

You'll also get to mosey on through an antique wood shop, machine shop, blacksmith shop, harness shop, print shop and the newest addition - a barber shop.

The Northwest Michigan Engine and Thresher Club Inc. also features a sawmill from the 1800s, huge, steam-powered tractors that range from the years 1898 to 1921 and every age in between.

And you'll see the large farm machine museum and Mayfield Township's 117-year-old town hall, which the township donated to the club.

The first two shows were at Joe Rebman's farm in Copemish in 1967. As the show expanded in popularity, the Northwest Michigan Engine and Thresher Club Inc. group bought 40 acres of property in Buckley for the show. Today, the show features more than 200 acres, with a reproduction of a 1900s street front and 1923 steam train that takes people on 1-mile rides throughout the grounds.
